Journey of Cooperation Through the Stars (creation myth for English) Long ago back when there were still people on Earth, and Mars was nothing but a red dot in the sky just waiting to be discovered. The people of earth had been trying to develop a way to live on Mars, back when the people of Earth had life on only one planet. A very wealthy and powerful man decided to fund the mission of the century, he would send 1,000 normal humans to the big red planet. It was the mission of the century, as the morning of the launch approached many people many people gathered to say goodbye to the 1,000 people boarding the ship.  As the ship launched legend says you could see Mars in the sky just as the ship took flight. As they flew through the sky through millions of stars and planets, legend says that they could see the spirits of the people who were going to live on mars for many years today. When humans colonize Mars, there will have to be a government in place in order for civilization of Mars to thrive. They will need to protect the rights of the people just like we do here on earth, here is what I believe their rights should be on Mars. 1. The right to self govern; once we have landed on mars and successfully created a stable community, the people on mars should not have to be governed by the people on earth but they should be able to govern themselves. 2. The right to communication with earth; everyone on mars should have a way to communicate with people back on earth no matter who you are you must be able to communicate with the people of earth 3. The right to form independent colonies; all the people on mars should be able to break of from the main group and form their own communities based on what they believe 4. Freedom of press; i believe that the freedom of the press should be the same on mars that it is here on earth, everyone should be able to say and expre...

Application for Mars I am applying to be a part of the revolutionary opportunity that is the Mission to Mars. I've been on Earth for thirteen years and seven months. And I believe that I am qualified to go on this Mission to Mars because I am resilient, hard working, and I have an aptitude for problem solving. I have been a leader on many of my class projects and have succeeded in all of them. I am a very curious person I've always wanted to go places, although I haven't been able to go many places yet, I will. It has forever been a major goal of mine to travel to the big red planet, we call Mars. I would love to explore and the beautiful planet, and to expand the human race to a new planet. I am persevering everyday I have to get myself out of bed and go to swim practice. Eventually Earth will no longer be habitable, and what will we do then, will we all parish along with all of our accomplishments. I hope not. When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for me to dissolve the bands which have connected me with tests, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that I should declare the causes which impel me to the separation. I believe that we should have no more tests. We should have independence from tests because not everyone can take test, yes you can take tests, but not everyone can take tests and get a good outcome. If we declare independence from tests, we will have less stress, and possibly better grades. Therefore no more tests!

These are the characters from my book and why they are leaders. Mary is a leader in her own way, because she leaves the reservation. By leaving the reservation she inspires Junior to do the same. One major difference between colonial life and my life is the form of education. In my life and society most kids go to school, start in Kindergarten end maybe 12th grade/ college. Where as in the Colonial time period your education, was largely based on your families choice, and religious preference. Some families hired tutors to come to the house, and teach, while very wealthy families sent their children to school in the cities. My life is also different from colonial times because women had close to no rights. Woman were not allowed to own land, or vote. Were as in today's world women are allowed to vote, and we are allowed to own land. Thats it for today kids!

All of us belong to different tribes, because we are all different people. In the book we are currently reading The Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian,  the main character Junior identifies with many different tribes, as do I. One of the tribes I belong is the swim tribe. I swim everyday, and for the most part it's pretty enjoyable, so theres one. The second tribe I belong to is the tribe friendship, I love all my friends and they always make me laugh. And the third tribe I belong to is the tribe of lifers, I've been with the same seven people since kindergarten, or before. And we all enjoy each other's presence and friendship.

I come from Santa Barbara, California. Friends, family and swim matter to me. I love french fries, avocado, picnics, and swim (sometimes.) I'm not sure where I'm going, but I do know that I am going to swim practice after school, but other than that not really sure where I'm headed. I dread running, its absolutely terrible. I hope for fun times, good laughs and great memories. Currently I really need ice, but long term Im gonna need support, and a job. I'm Maria, I swim pretty much everyday, (unless I get lazy.) I LOVE french fries. I hate pigeons.
